Lora Margolis

August 13, 1941 — May 25, 2020

Lora May (Sparks) Margolis passed away Monday, May 25th (Memorial Day), 2020 at her home in Mt. Sterling, Ohio from an unforgiving fight with lung/brain cancer. Lora was born August 13th, 1941 in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Walter R. Sparks and Elizabeth May (Pendleton) Sparks. She is preceded in death by both her parents, husband Leon Margolis, and brothers Robert and Russel. Lora May is survived by daughters Carrie Andrews and Doreen Sparks, grandchildren Michael, Shana, Travis, Laci Mae, and James, 3 great-grandchildren Hannah, Korbin & Silas, brother Walter Sparks, and niece and nephews Rodney, Steve, David, Tina, Russel, and Tyson.

Lora was a vibrant, energetic spirit. She liked to do everything with full force. She was very knowledgeable of current issues and of history. She loved to make people happy and enjoyed life whenever and wherever she got the chance. She had a very youthful spirit and did her best to bring fun into any situation. At times she felt misunderstood but found a way to overcome that, and live life the best she could. She believed in the Truth and always gave it and expected it. She was as honest as anyone could ever be.

Lora loved all things wonderful. All flowers, the sun, going to fairs and celebrating for/with others. She had a huge love for cats. Her favorite was Jake. She loved birds, butterflies, gifting to others, movies, music, dancing, and her garden. Lora was always fascinated by TREES and loved them with all her heart. They made her happy... She always said that "When you feel a breeze, that it's God whispering to let you know he's listening”. She was truly beautiful and giddy, and had the most generous soul for giving. Always smiling with her gorgeous smile hoping she would make others do the same.

She was a long time resident of Mount Sterling, which is a small cozy town away from the city, and she liked it that way. She loved Astrology and crocheting and actually won many awards for her blankets she entered at fairs. She worked at many places including CFTO movie studio in Canada, as a miniature set artist, Gold Circle store as Mgr., Hills Dept. University, and at Arms Apartments as a Landscape Artist. She also loved Art and the New York Times crossword puzzle. She was exceptional at everything, and whatever she put her mind to she always did it top notch. Her kindness, her soul, her intellect and especially her love will be truly missed.

Lora chose cremation with specific instructions along with no service or viewing. She wanted to be remembered for her accomplishments and her love for life.
