Monday, September 23rd, Maynard Donald Johnson lost his battle with cancer. He was 64 years old. And a lifelong resident of Youngstown (West Side). He was affectionately known as Don. He was surrounded by his dogs, friends, and family.

Don was born December 20, 1954 to his surviving parents Maynard Lyle Johnson and Joan Irene (Rony) Johnson in Oswego, New York. Currently they reside in Youngstown.

Don leaves his ex-wife, Bonita (Stevenson) Ita. This union produced two children. Daniel Lee Johnson of Youngstown, and Tionne Lynn Johnson, and her daughter Ariel; both are currently living in Salem.

Don leaves his brother Tommy (Tom) Jo Johnson. His sister Deborah Ann Johnson of Maine. Don touched the lives of his many nieces and nephews. He maintained a special relationship with his cousin Raymond Drew Johnson or Youngstown. As he is leaving several cousins, aunts, and uncle whom has survived him.

Don attended Chaney High School. He has maintained lifelong friendships with several people.

Don worked as a security guard for several years. He enjoyed wood working, and tinkering with his guns. He was an avid reader, who enjoyed Louis L’Amours’ writings. As well as the history presented in these books. His pride and joy was his family and animals. Sadly, he will be missed.

Don graciously donated his body to The Ohio State Anatomical Program. Upon the receipt of his remains, a reception will be held in his honor. So family and friends will be welcomed to celebrate Don’s life.
