Richard Kevan

Richard H. Kevan, born 07/26/1931 died peacefully 01/04/2020 surrounded by the love of his family. He called Wellsville, Ohio home from his birth to 1974 when he moved to Upper Arlington, Ohio.  He was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Evelyn (Croft) Kevan, a brother, Denton L. Kevan and a great grandson, Christopher Thomas Anderson-Hood.  He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Janet (Bechtol) Kevan, of the home, a son, Rick L. Kevan (Georgia), of Arizona, two daughters, Janet M. Kevan-Mathis (Shawn) of Worthington, Ohio, Kim E. Storey (Ken) of Dublin, Ohio and a sister, Gladie (Kevan) Merritt (Ed) of Canton, Ohio.  He is also survived by ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Richard worked for Ohio Bell and AT&T for 48 years, loved to golf, share stories of his youth in the Ville, fish the waters of Lake Erie and was an avid hunter, making many trips to Newfoundland, Nova Scotia where he would proudly bring home a moose for the freezer.  He loved to sled ride down 14th Street, ice skate on Chettle's Lake, grow tomatoes and make his famous green tomato relish.   He served as President and board member of the Salineville/Southern Local School District, was a member of the Jaycees and served as a Deacon in the Wellsville First Christian Church where he was still a member.

His wishes for cremation were honored and his ashes will be buried at Springhill Cemetery in Wellsville along with a celebration of life service, at a later date.
