Rita Montgomery

With heavy hearts, the Montgomery family regrets to announce the passing of our beloved Rita
June (Stafford) Montgomery on June 27, 2021. Her spirit is carried on by her husband, four
children and nine grandchildren.

Rita was born on May 21, 1954, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to James and Virginia Stafford. A
graduate from Columbus High School, she married the love of her life, Gary Montgomery, on
September 24th, 1972, and they moved to Ohio in 1988 with their four sons, where they
became members of Worthington Christian Church. After her retirement from CoreSource, Rita
spent the remainder of her life with her family by her side and the joy of the Lord in her heart.

Rita is survived by her husband Gary Montgomery, sons: Jason (Jaimee), Justin (Amy), Joshua,
and Joel (Andrea) and her nine grandchildren: Cheyenne, Mason, Logan, Keegan, Maddox,
Matthew, Mercy, Maren, and Ryder. She is proceeded in death by her father, James Stafford,
her mother, Virginia (Foltz) Stafford, and her sister, Cinda Stafford.

A celebration of Rita’s life will take place at Worthington Christian Church. Visitations will be
held on Friday July 2nd from both 2-4pm and 6-8pm and on Saturday, July 3rd from 9-10am.
Services will be held on Saturday, July 3rd at 10am.
